Why should I use Sk8 Shox™ if I don't use riser pads on my board?
Sk8 Shox™ will increase the smoothness of your ride, increase the board's pop and will help increase your speed.
How is this possible?
Sk8 Shox™ is an independent suspension system for your skateboard which increases smoothness and functions as a spring that can help increase the height of jumps. Sk8 Shox™ can also increase your speed because of it's patent pending independent suspension which allows for more isolated shock distribution.
Why are Sk8 Shox™ better than riser pads?
Sk8 Shox™ have all the great properties mentioned above and they also help prevent wheel bite.
What sizes are available?
Sk8 Shox™ are currently available in sizes “A”, “B” and “C”. “A” is comparable to 1/5" riser, “B” is comparable to ¼" riser, “C” is comparable to a ½" riser.
Can I change the height of my Sk8 Shox™?
When you install Sk8 Shox™ you have the choice to customize the installation height and feel to your liking. This is called “preloading” the shock. When you preload the shock you reduce the height of the shock. Sk8 Shox can be preloaded all the way down to their solid height for a more rigid ride with the benefits of the independent suspension.
How do Sk8 Shox™ work?
Sk8 Shox™ bumpers are highly engineered elastomeric products designed to absorb more energy per unit of weight and volume than most known materials.
What colors are Sk8 Shox™ available in?
Sk8 Shox™ are currently available in black. Other colors will be available soon, keep checking back.
How do I install Sk8 Shox™?
Using a fully threaded screw, insert the screw through the board. Now using a screw gun or drill, thread the screw through the small end of the sk8 shock until the shock snugs up against the board. Repeat this step for all 7 remaining shox. Now install the truck over it's respective set of bolts/shox.
Finally install a nylock nut over each screw. Be sure to tighten all screws uniformly so each shock is compressed evenly.
What kind of screws do I use to install Sk8 Shox™?
You should use a fully threaded 10-32 machine screw to install Sk8 Shox™. These are the screws most commonly used for installing trucks on skateboards. Use a 1.25" screw for SBS-A and SBS-B and use a 1.5" screw for SBS-C.
